5 Home Remedies for Beating the Common Cold

For the apple cider vinegar tea, add in 1-2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to a cup of hot water. That sounds disgusting we know, but that’s why you add in lemon juice for taste. As far as the ginger tea goes, you can buy that in stores or add in about two tablespoons of ground ginger root to hot water. 

2. Honey

Honey is full of antioxidants and has antibacterial properties. It can also boost your immune system as well as give your sore throat a little relief. You can add a few tablespoons to the teas above to make them more effective. 

You can also put honey in some hot water with lemon juice for its extra immune system building benefits.

3. Use Warm Salt Water 

If you have a lot of congestion going on, warm salt water can help break it up a little bit. Put 1/4 of a teaspoon of salt and 1/4 of a teaspoon of baking soda in 8 ounces of water. 

After you’ve gotten your mixture ready, use a syringe to squirt the liquid up your nose like you would any nasal spray you get from the store. 

4. Increase Your Vitamin C and D Intake
