Eating small portions of fresh vegetables at every meal

He suggests using a lot of parsley to flavour your food. Lamm says that the same vegetables are not healthy if they are cooked in oil or seasoned with butter. If they want to eat large portions, then he suggests that they make sure there are fresh vegetables on your plate.

Drinking green tea for its anti-inflammatory properties

He explains that our body is at war with free radicals, and we need antioxidants to stop the damage they cause. He recommends drinking green tea as a way to protect yourself from disease and reduce your risk of getting cancer.

Avoiding sugar and processed food as much as possible (he recommends reading labels carefully!)

Lamm says that 30 teaspoons of sugar are added to the American diet every day. Lamm’s rule is to avoid anything containing more than 15 grams of sugar per serving. He also explains that eating processed food causes blood vessel damage and can cause diabetes, so it’s best to try limiting this type of food in your diet.

Eating healthy fats

He suggests removing trans-fats from their diet because they are made from oil and cause a lot of damage. He also recommends cooking with healthy oils, such as flaxseed oil for salads, sesame oil for stir-fries, and olive oil for cooking. Lamm says that the ideal amount is two tablespoons per day. He says that it is fine to eat organic, non-GMO, grass-fed animal products.

Eating complex carbohydrates

Lamm indicates these are good for their health because they help the body’s immune system function properly. He suggests eating white rice or whole-grain bread in small amounts. He says you should avoid all pasta except Zucchini noodles if they are on a low-calorie diet. Shalom also advises avoiding potatoes and fruit juices as part of his healthy living plan. He says that eating carbohydrates with protein will help to regulate glucose levels. He stresses moderation, saying too much sugar is not good for them.

Lamm suggests drinking at least 2 litres of water a day

He says that dehydration slows down their metabolism, so it’s important to have plenty of water. He also suggests adding fresh fruits and vegetables into the water because they will release their nutrients as they drink them. Lamm encourages everyone to take action in order to improve their healthy lifestyle. He says that he is not a doctor, but he is just trying to pass on his knowledge over the years.
