Hollywood had a rough time in 2017, as a number of beloved stars passed away in 2017. From unexpected deaths to suicide, no matter how celebrities die, the entire world is mourning them. At the same time, they will always be remembered for their movies, songs or personality. Both the media and their fans do not forget them and they will stay alive in their minds. Here are some of the most shocking celebrity deaths of 2017:

Hugh Hefner

The founder of the notorious magazine Playboy died in 2017, at the age of 91. According to the news gathered by Dead or Kicking, Hefner’s health has been declining in the last years. Several causes has been listed for his cause of death, including sepsis, E.Coli infection, cardiac arrest and respiratory distress. Hugh M. Hefner, the American icon who in 1953 introduced the world to Playboy magazine and built the company into one of the most recognizable American global brands in historydied on September 27, 2017, at his home, the Playboy Mansion, in Holmby Hills, California.

Chris Cornell

Chris Cornell’s death is surrounded in mystery. The lead singer of Soundgarden died suddenly after a show in Detroit. The coroner’s report states that he committed suicide by hanging, but Cornell’s wife insists that her husband was under the influence of several drugs. Unfortunately for the band’s fans, Chris Cornell’s death left a huge empty space in the world of music.

Chester Bennington

If Hefner’s death was somewhat expected because of his age, Chester Bennington’s death was a complete shock. The 41 year old singer committed suicide by hanging, without leaving an explanation for his gesture. He had been struggling with alcohol addiction and depression for some years, but he seemed happy in his last days. Interestingly enough, he committed suicide on the day Chris Cornell would have been 53 years old. Cornell also died in 2017 and the two were close friends.Bennington commented on Cornell’s death on Instagram by stating, “I can’t imagine a world without you in it.”

John Heard

John Heard reached to our homes in the character of Peter McCallister in Home Alone series. The beloved actor died suddenly at 71 from a heart attack in a hotel from Palo Alto. Heard was recovering from a minor surgery at the time of his death, but that was not the reason he passed away based on what is reported.

Roger Moore

The handsome actor who played James Bond seven times was recognized for his charisma. The British actor also played Simon Templar in The Saint. Moore died at the age of 90 from prostate cancer. During an interview, Moore confessed that Bond’s image was a cover for his own timidity. He also said he was terrified to play the sexy scenes.

Bill Paxton

One of Hollywood’s nice guys, Bill Paxton, died unexpectedly after suffering complications during heart surgery. His career included roles in The Terminator, True Lies and Titanic. He also starred in HBO’s series Big Love, which explored the life of a polygamist family.

Gene Cernan

Gene Cernan is lesser known to the general public, but he was one of the last people who walked on the moon. Cernan was born in Chicago on March 14, 1934. He left his mark on the history of exploration by flying three times in space, twice to the moon. He also holds the distinction of being the second American to walk in space and the last human to leave his footprints on the lunar surface.

Joni Sledge

Another lesser known celebrity, who left a huge mark on our culture, was Joni Sledge. She died at the age of 60, in March. While her name might not ring a bell, the song she recorded with her sister is definitely one of the most popular songs of all time: “We are family”.
