In modern society, it’s both easier and more difficult to get healthier. Many of us find ourselves waking up in the morning with the statement “I want to be healthier.” But then we go end up working for eight hours in a sedentary position and eat junk food.
Luckily, with the right information and a little bit of effort, it’s actually pretty easier to get healthier. Interested in learning more? Continue reading and we’ll walk you through everything you need to know.
1. Eat Vegetables That Aren’t Starchy
There are two types of vegetables: starchy and non-starchy. Starchy vegetables tend to have more calories and carbs and fewer nutrients than non-starchy ones. These include navy beans, corn, and potatoes.
Good examples of non-starchy vegetables are carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, and dark green leafy vegetables like spinach.
Try to fill half your plate with non-starchy vegetables to stay healthy and more fit.
2. Drink CBD Water
Drinking CBD water delivers you the benefits of staying hydrated as well as consuming CBD. Drinking water helps deliver oxygen to your blood and regulates your body temperature.
Taking CBD can relieve pain and reduce anxiety.
3. Eat Fatty Fish
Fatty fish like sardines and salmon are extremely nutritious. They’re a great source of omega-3 fatty acids and can lower your risk of heart disease and chronic inflammation.
Fatty fish are also an excellent source of B Vitamins. B vitamins help maintain healthy nerve and brain function, repair DNA, and make energy in the body. You should strive to eat at least two servings of fatty fish every week.
4. Drink Green Tea
Although all you need to really drink is water, green tea is an excellent choice for a flavored drink. This beverage is low in calories and comes with a bunch of antioxidants and nutrients. The antioxidants in green tea help your body to fight free radicals which can cause cancer and other diseases.
Green tea also contains caffeine and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). These two compounds can help boost your metabolism and burn fat.
5. Drink Black Coffee
Over 100 million Americans drink coffee. Unfortunately, many of those people are adding cream, milk, sugar, and other additives to their morning cup of joe. This means that you’re adding extra calories and unhealthy ingredients into your coffee.
Switching to black coffee can save you from adding a bunch of calories and many grams of sugar too.
6. Don’t Drink Soda
Drinking soda is essentially like drinking sugar in a can. Soda doesn’t contain any essential nutrients and is filled with added sugar.
Beverages that are sweetened with sugar can increase your risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer. Plus, the acids in soda can damage your teeth, and it gets even worse when those acids are combined with sugar.
Accomplishing Your “I Want to Be Healthier” Desire
After simply following the above tips, you’ll go from saying “I want to be healthier” to “I am healthier” in no time at all. Just remember to avoid as much sugar as possible and eat foods that contain important nutrients.
