Chronic pain is a significant issue that adversely affects people’s physical and mental health, especially if they experience challenges in mobility and functioning due to the pain. People seek help and support from various professionals, including doctors, surgeons, and physiotherapists but usually fail to reduce their pain. Chiropractors offer hope and an alternative to patients experiencing pain when other options or techniques fail to alleviate their issues. Chiropractors are trained healthcare professionals who diagnose and treat neuromuscular disorders. The trained individuals manipulate the spine or manually adjust joints and bones to reduce pain and improve a person’s mobility and functionality. The primary objective of a chiropractor is to reduce pain while improving patients’ physical abilities and functions.
Although most people view chiropractic as a nonmedical treatment method, it is a form of alternative medicine focusing on pain management. Chiropractors diagnose, prevent, and treat disorders related to the musculoskeletal system and are essential in many circumstances. They play a significant role in helping people recover from neuromuscular disorders through exercise and manual therapy rather than focusing on invasive procedures or medicines. Chiropractors receive professional training and have a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree, but differ from medicine doctors with M.D. degrees. The professionals use their hands and manual therapy to help resolve issues or relieve pain related to patients’ muscles, bones, and joints. Linda Varisco is a prominent chiropractor with experience of over thirty years who helped patients alleviate and manage their pain.
Linda Varisco is a chiropractor who treated patients from all age groups and helped them alleviate their pain while treating neuromuscular disorders. She started her chiropractic career after getting inspired by a chiropractor who helped her mother walk in a few days from previously being restricted to a recliner. Her mother experienced challenges walking due to lower back pain and disc herniations. Varisco journeyed to becoming an accomplished chiropractor by receiving formal training and spending over thirty years in the industry. The chiropractor turned her attention to using her penmanship skills to write and publish books after being inspired to write a book about her pet squirrel, Mr. Peaches. The book’s success compelled Varisco to delve deeper into her talent and write more books after creating a publishing company named Mr. Peaches, LLC.
Born on November 1, 1962, in Long Island, New York, to Italian American parents, Varisco had a pleasant childhood and upbringing because she was doted upon by her parents and grandparents. She knew what being loved meant early on and utilized that compassion as a chiropractor and later as an author. Varisco had a knack for art from an early age and received a scholarship to an art school in Pennsylvania due to her talent. However, Varisco completed high school in 1980 by turning down the scholarship. She played tennis throughout her early life and school before attending Villanova University to complete her bachelor’s degree. Varisco majored in biology because of her passion for becoming an obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) professional.
Linda Varisco’s mother spent six months in a recliner due to severe lower back pain and disc herniations. Although her mother was scheduled for surgery, Varisco’s father took his wife to a chiropractor as a last resort. Her mother was walking within fifteen days and resumed her life without the pain and herniations. The chiropractor’s work astounded Varisco, who spent the summer between her sophomore and junior year as an internee at the chiropractic office. She fell in love with the profession due to her mother’s experience and how chiropractors helped people alleviate pain and lead a fulfilling and comfortable life. She graduated from Villanova University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in religion. Varisco later attended Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She graduated with honors as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1987.
Varisco started working as a chiropractor and spent over thirty years helping patients of all ages alleviate their pain or neuromuscular disorders. She journeyed from chiropractic practice to being an author after getting inspired to write a book about her squirrel, Mr. Peaches. The family found the abandoned squirrel in 2019 and took him in to keep him safe. The family and the squirrel quickly took to each other, and Mr. Peaches became a family member. After getting an idea from her marketing and social media instructor, Varisco uploaded a video of Mr. Peaches on the internet, which went viral. Many people suggested that she write a book about Mr. Peaches. Linda Varisco wrote her first book, The Life of Mr. Peaches – Life is Peachy and established a publishing company in his name to publish more books. The experienced chiropractor, Linda Varisco, became a published and prominent author after receiving inspiration from her squirrel, Mr. Peaches.
