Shalom Lamm has always dreamed of taking his family to Asia and travel across the continent to see all that it has to offer. Asia is the largest continent on the planet, therefore is home to some of the most diverse and interesting destinations. The word “Asia” is ancient and is believed to have been derived from the Assyrian word “asu” meaning “east.” And the east term would have come from the ancient Greeks and Romans stating the land that was east of them. Asia has both the highest and the lowest point of the Earth. There are fifty countries total in Asia, including some larger populated, well-known countries such as Russia, China, Japan, and India. As well as much smaller populated countries, such as, Taiwan, Lebanon, Palestine and Singapore. Asia is home to over 4.56 billion people. It is the most diverse continent and offers great travel destinations, food and culture.
One example being, China. China itself is home to over 1.39 billion people and is located in East Asia. China has a lot of very popular destinations to offer such as the amazing Great Wall in the Huairou district. It stretches over 6,000 kilometers from one side of the country to the other. Beijing offers the historic Forbidden City and the Imperial Palace. Hong Kong has the most family friendly place in the world and that Disneyland amusement park that is perfect for the family. Fun fact, China produces 45 billion pairs of chopsticks each year.
Indonesia is a much smaller piece of land off the southern coast of Asia and it is populated by over 270 million people. It is the fourth most populous country. There are 150 volcanoes in Indonesia with 127 of them currently active. It is home to lots of islands and Bali is one of the most visited places of Indonesia and is known for its beautiful beaches and crystal clear water. Bali is nicknamed the Island of the Gods for its deeply rooted spiritual Hindu temples.
Japan has a wonderful culture and delicious cuisine. One place to visit in Japan is Mount Fuji. It is a volcano that has not erupted since 1708. For backpackers it would be great, since there are 4 different routes to take up the mountain. Springtime would be the best time to visit Japan so that the famous cherry blossoms would be in full bloom.
Another great family-friendly place to visit would be Phuket, Thailand. It has a tropical paradise vibe, gorgeous beaches and it has a hike up to the Big Buddha that is a 45 meter tall statue made of Burmese marble. It is definitely a sight to see.
All in all, there are tons of great countries and destinations to visit in Asia that would be great for anyone. There is something for everyone. A trip to Asia would be a trip of a lifetime for Shalom Lamm and his family.
