We’d all like to make changes to our daily habits and live healthier lives, but how do we know what to focus on for the best results? Learning to live healthy doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. Examine the following three areas to see where you need to make improvements, then try incorporating the tips from Nu Skin and start your journey to a healthier life.
Take Care of Your Body
The first step to a healthier life is taking care of your physical body through exercise, nutrition, and other good habits.
Make a habit of going to bed at the same time every night and turning off screens and devices at least an hour beforehand. It is important to get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep each night.
When we drink enough water we have more energy, clearer skin, better digestion, and improved cognition. A good rule of thumb is to take your body weight in pounds and divide it by two. That number is the number of ounces of water your body needs each day.
Regular exercise can improve mood, endurance, strength, cognition, and overall health and happiness. Try to incorporate a combination of cardio and weight or resistance training, plus stretching. Remember that any exercise is better than no exercise!
Unless you have been instructed to follow a certain diet by a doctor, focus on getting the right amounts of a variety of healthy foods, including protein, fiber, and healthy fats. Think of food as fuel for your body and choose a fuel that will give you the energy and endurance your body needs. Avoid processed sugars and artificial ingredients as much as possible.
Take Care of Your Mind
Live a healthier life by taking care of your mind with meditation, capacity, and developing a growth mindset. Daily meditation is a great way to release stress and clear your head from the things that weigh you down. Capacity is the level of achievement your body can handle. Things that challenge you like risks, conflicts, feedback, and difficult experiences all help us to grow and develop a greater capacity.
Developing a growth mindset means that we build a habit of looking for ways to continue to get better, rather than settle into stagnant or limiting beliefs. For example, instead of thinking, “I can’t do that,” a person with a growth mindset would think, “I can’t do that yet.”
Take Care of Your Spirit
Take care of your spirit by doing something you love. Take up a hobby, develop a talent, or do anything that gets those creative juices flowing. Some examples might include drawing, painting, singing, cooking, gardening, dancing, playing an instrument, photography, woodworking, and so on.
Once you’ve incorporated these elements into your daily lives, we are confident you will live healthier and happier.
