For a time, George Clooney was America’s most eligible bachelor. As recently as January 2014, he told Esquire: “I was married in 1989. I wasn’t very good at it. I was quoted as saying I’ll never get married again pretty much right after I got divorced and then I’ve never talked about it since.” Yet, less than a year later, he was married to an international lawyer from London. Since then, Amal Clooney has become a superstar in her own right with women all over the world studying her ever move, style choice and beauty secret.
It’s no wonder that plastic surgeons are hearing an increased request to duplicate her famous features, including that perfect nose.
Amal Clooney rhinoplasty is a popular trend
“Amal Clooney radiates strength and self-confidence that other women find very attractive,” explains Manhattan plastic surgeon, Dr. Thomas W. Loeb. “A lot of women come in for their rhinoplasty consultations using Amal Clooney’s nose as an example of what they’d like to achieve in their own transformations,” he says. See examples of rhinoplasty here.
Strangely enough, the Amal Clooney Style blog published private pictures of Amal, charging that she herself has had a nose job since her college years. “It’s a real testament to her surgeon, then, that she is able to achieve such a natural-looking, desirable nose that others wish to emulate,” says Dr. Loeb.
Hollywood starlets often drive rhinoplasty trends
Amal Clooney is not the first public figure to prompt a “rhinoplasty craze.” The Moxy beauty blog cited Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton as having “the perfect nose” for New Yorkers. Her nose is “not too round, not too pointy – a lovely middle ground,” reports Kate Kennedy.
New Beauty says the “most sought-after” noses in Hollywood include:
- Nicole Kidman
- Halle Berry
- Natalie Portman
- Kate Beckinsale
- Adriana Lima
- Angelina Jolie
- Jessica Alba
- Scarlett Johansson
- Ivanka Trump
- Jessica Biel
- Charlize Theron
- Emma Stone
- Jennifer Lawrence
- Kim Kardashian
For male rhinoplasty patients, CBS News reports that Jude Law has the most-requested nose, followed by Josh Duhamel and Ben Affleck.
Finding a natural look is key to satisfying results
“Surgeons use celebrity photos to better understand patient expectations,” says Dr. Loeb. “From there, the surgeon presents the anatomical perspective that shows what is possible for a particular patient.”
For instance, “You could give Amal Clooney’s nose to someone like Salma Hayek,” Dr. Loeb explains, “but not someone with a rounder, more compact face like Selena Gomez.” Dr. Loeb recommends looking for a celebrity with a similar underlying bone structure. “Sometimes we can’t go for that narrow, angular look, but there are other attractive and attainable looks that suit patients well – a Jennifer Lawrence type nose, perhaps.”
The work done before the surgery itself is often the most important in guaranteeing true success. Good communication and rapport between patient and surgeon is crucial to a successful surgery. Patients should never feel pressured into a decision. Emotional maturity and understanding of the risks involved is mandatory.
Having realistic expectations means anticipating improved self-confidence and aesthetic appearance, but also knowing that it takes more than a new nose to land the man of one’s dreams, attain the ideal career, or find true happiness.
