Yohimbe is an extract from an African plant. It is used as an aphrodisiac and for problems with erectile dysfunction. However, in high doses, this compound can cause elevated blood pressure, heart irregularities and even death.
3 – Kava
Kava is another plant extract made from a botanical that grows in Southeast Asia. It is commonly taken as a non-prescription remedy for anxiety reactions. However, in large doses, kava can cause liver damage. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning for this product.
4 – Lobelia
Lobelia is a plant extract used to treat coughs, bronchitis, asthma and as a smoking cessation aid. Large amounts of the compound can cause heartbeat disturbances, low blood pressure, coma and death.
5 – Bitter Orange
This supplement is used for nasal congestion and allergies. It contains a compound called synephrine, which is similar to epinephrine, and can have severe effects on heart rhythm. It can cause fainting, strokes and may even cause death.
6 – HGH
HGH, human growth hormone, is touted as a remedy for age-related problems, promising to stop hair loss, reduce fat, build muscle, regulate blood sugar and improve sexual performance. It can produce side effects of muscle pain, joint pain, numbness of the skin, tingling of the skin and increased problems with diabetes or risk of cancer.
7 – Reumofan Plus & Reumofan Plus Premium
This dietary supplement is manufactured in Mexico and is promoted as a treatment for osteoarthritis, muscle pain, bone cancer and other conditions. However, its use has been associated with a number of harmful effects, including stroke and death. .
